Hello! Today’s post is all about Black History Month! I love doing a post like this each year- sharing some of my favorite things I’m loving from Black owned brands, creators, and of course, books!
First, some history behind Black History Month. Include these sites on your next road trip. This essay by Ta-Nehisi Coates may be 7 year old now but it is evergreen. Planning on watching this soon (still need to read the book!)
Here are five books by Black authors I love: Wash Day Diaries | B is for Baby | The Sum of Us | Behold the Dreamers | Queen Move
And five from my TBR: Moonrise Over Jessup | Reggie and Delilah's Year of Falling | On the Rooftop | The Banned Bookshop of Maggie Banks | Admissions
In my cart from Black owned brands: My baby has two of these dolls and I want to get her a 3rd (she’s starting to understand pretend play!). This tea sampler box! I’ve been meaning to try this sunscreen. I really want to try this makeup brand (currently I’m a Fenty girl through and through). But also I am definitely feeling like I need to gatekeep the best products for this reason
A few of my favorite Black content creators: Fatou Fall is a DMV local who is just so joyful I want to be her friend. Tomi is one of my favorite follows (and she’s so fun and kind). The only men whose podcast I would ever listen to. I love this account curated by Cree. I’m a huge fan of Danielle Prescod (bonus: her book is on my TBR)
How you can support Black folks: Color of Change | The Legal Defense Fund | The HBCU Foundation | We Need Diverse Books| Shop at Black Owned Bookstores
How you can support me: Follow me on Instagram | TikTok (I’m doing a BHM series there where I share a book by a Black author every day this month) | Subscribe to this newsletter and tell your friends | Listen and subscribe to Taylor and I’s podcast, Bound to Happen

Sips by tea sampler is very tempting. And is it weird if I want one of those dolls for myself?
